Resident Evil Veronica Set for 2027 | Capcom Remake Revealed
Capcom is Finally Remaking Resident Evil: Code Veronica!
The rumors were real. Capcom kicked off Summer Game Fest by dropping a massive bomb: a full, ground-up remake of the 2000 Dreamcast classic is officially happening.
Titled simply Resident Evil Veronica, the game is locked in for a 2027 release.
The Quick Highlights
The Gameplay View: Don't let the trailer's brief first-person intro fool you. The developers confirmed the final game will use the classic over-the-shoulder perspective we love from the RE2 and RE4 remakes.
A Rewritten Story: Capcom is calling this a "reimagined storyline." They are actively tweaking the script to make it fit perfectly with modern franchise continuity—meaning we're going to get some incredible narrative bridges connecting this directly to Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Requiem.
Rockfort Island Reimagined: Built on the RE Engine, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and terrifying. The trailer teased a rain-soaked prologue in Paris before showing off a grim, photorealistic overhaul of Rockfort Island.
Where to Play: It’s hitting all next-gen hardware, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
